H. Mueller arrives in Decatur, IL and opens business.

1872

Mueller patents water/gas main tapping machine.

1885

Mueller established and shipped first rotary type water machine.

1892

Providence Steam & Gas Pipe Co. is combined with sprinkler manufacturers from New York and Ohio to form General Fire Extinguisher Co. Frederick Grinnell is named president.

1907

Mueller introduces the first gas shutoff valve as part of service tree connection.

1919

General Fire Extinguisher Co. becomes Grinnell Co.

1923

Mueller introduces copper plumbing and flare connections for domestic use.

1926

Pratt introduces first rubber seated butterfly valves.

1936

Mueller introduces mechanical gas line stopper.

1949

Mueller patents tamper-proof gas valve.

1960

Gruvlok line of grooved fittings is introduced.

2005

Walter Industries, Inc. acquires Mueller Water Products, Inc. formerly a privately held leading supplier of flow control products, for an aggregated value of approximately $1.91 billion, and combines with U.S. Pipe and Foundry.

2006

Mueller Water Products, Inc. spun off as a seperate, publicy held company.

2009

Mueller Water Products created Mueller Systems by combining Arkion Systems and Hersey Meters. Mueller expands its advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) offerings to help municipalities improve conservation and operational efficiencies with the introduction of Mi.Net® Mueller infrastructure for Utilities.

2010

Mueller Water Products expands its leak detection and pipe condition assessment capabilities with the acquisition of Echologics Holdings, the parent company of Echologics Engineering Inc. Mueller introduces Mi.Hydrant, helping to expand the capabilities of the Mi.Net™ System.

2012

Mueller Water Products divests U.S. Pipe.

2015

Mueller Systems joins the LoRa Alliance (Press Release)

2016

Mueller Water Products recognized for the Best Smart Water Solution (Press Release)
